I have a corvette zo6 2008 limited edition and I have installed ECS kit and the car makes 10 psi of boost and the stock map sensor dosent read after 5000 rpm so what should I do ? I need a good map sensor that can fits with OEM map harness . I have heard from many people the replaced the OEM map sensor with zr1 3 bar map sensor but the issue is dose it fits with the OEM map harness or not I need some advises please .

It is interchangeable. The ZR1 sensor has a red/orange tag and is made in Germany. Here’s a picture of what it looks like.

I'm using the MAP sensor from a Cobalt SS.

ok but does it fits directly or not because the mechanic told me that it doesn't match with the OEM harness adapter its deferent so what do you recommend any installation pictures that you have maybe !!

You want a cobalt SS sensor assuming you're running less than 15psi.

LS7, LS2 and cobalt SS are the same type connector and mounting point on the intake manifold so it will pop right in. The ZR1 sensor is a perfect choice for LS3's but would require some slight changes to make it work on an LS7. Nothing major, you have to slightly drill out the hole it fits into on the manifold and either change the connector on the wiring harness or buy an adapter basically.

And obviously tune will have to be changed regardless of which one you change to

What are you using to read MAP/Boost?

I’m drill out the hole for a zr1 map but I’m going past 15psi. An adapter harness is about $20 and as stated above tune change required no matter what you do.

whats the link of the adapter harness . I'm thinking to cut ls3 connector and join it with gem harness wires so what do thing is it a good idea ??

There’s nothing wrong with cutting and changing the plug. As far as I’m taking my build I probably should cause I’ll necer go back. But I like the option of returning things back to stock.

The last option is a 2.5 bar one that DSX makes, it would go right in without any mods, but I don't know if they have any in stock right now.

As of last Friday he does not. Was considering seeing if he’d do a custom 3 bar for me but I know he’s really busy. DPE Corvettes does seem to have them in stock but I’m really picky and would personally only buy one from dsx.

I'd just go with the DPE one or do what was mentioned earlier for making the ZR1 one work then, that's really your only easy options. Option 3 is to make your own 2.5 bar sensor. There's a thread around here somewhere with how to do it and what sensor to buy from digikey (that's what I did originally)

You learn something new about GM **** every day. The sensors look identical, except the LS2/7 version has a “corrugated” seal as opposed to a single o-ring. The plug also looks the same, until you look inside at the spade connectors. One more thing to be confused about.

Yeah, it's pretty dumb they used the LS2 style MAP on LS7's, I guess that was what was common when the LS7 came out though maybe?

I have to swap and do a ls9 sensor for my new intake, so my DSX 2.5 bar ls2/7 style bolt on sensor will probably be for sale today.

Might want to shoot romandian a PM, he was wanting my 2.5 bar one but I haven't been able to find it so he'd probably take it if he hasn't found one already
