I’m hoping to find out today I still think it has to do with it “not making power” after 6200. Thinking of buying heads to throw on

Heads are not the issue. Setup of the heads could be, but 800+ on bone stock heads is cake.

I'd bet it's either slippage or fuel supply. It's not heads or cam. Your ls3 heads flow more than my stock 243's and there are plenty of people making way more power on stock cam.

Definitely not heads. I’m still rocking the stock ones.

Well I figure if valve train is the issue to go ahead and get ported heads. Keep stocks. Would a rod modded intake be an issue? I still haven’t gotten car so I can check everything out

Intake wouldn't cause an issue.

You probably have major slip issues, or are out of fuel. Or something stupid like massive boost leak/etc.

Expected you to be running out of fuel. If you're floating the valves as well but don't have any plans for a camshaft, I would recommend grabbing some PAC 1218 springs. If you do plan on a camshaft then get some springs that will accommodate the camshaft you're planning on.

Lifting the springs? I've made 800+ on bone stock cam/springs more times than I can count.

Ls3 cars, l99 cars.

Camaros, vettes, g8s.

Just let the boost do the work.

Lifting springs is the only thing I can guess for supposedly needing to be at around 14psi and only actually getting 10psi. What fuel set ups are y’all running I’m thinking about getting the upp kit. I won’t be getting a cam anytime soon but later in the future I will so I’m gonna go with some 660 springs.

Im not saying its his problem but i have pulled springs out of the box and open pressure have been way off from what they were supposed to be.

Agreed. I have a VERY similar setup with the exception of being a LS2.
Stock cam, A&A V2 T-trim and 3.8 pulley and stock balancer it made 11psi with 1 7/8th kooks lontube, catless X pipe and corsa sports exhaust.

Gonna kind of hijack the thread.. running into the same issue.

Got a stock ci ls2 with 317 heads and a v7, on 6psi/3.8" pulley made 690 on 93.

After bending a valve(didn't do any real damage), redid the heads and changed the cam. Now making 19psi(at the mani) with a 3.1" pulley and making 700 on E85.

No belt slip
Free flowing exhaust
Plentyyy of fuel and injector to make 1000+
Brand new BTR valvetrain
Sounds healthy/strong
Compression is fine

Stops making power at 6500 and peaks 19psi at 6950.

What springs do you have installed? My car has 60 psi of fuel till 6200 then it progressively goes down to 30 psi. Already ordered UPP in line fuel set up and doing 660 springs to see if that’ll resolve my boost issue

btr 660, PAC 660s are the ones that broke within 5k

I have massive injectors and a dual aux setup. upp isn't worth the money imo I built mine for like $600 and can support a lot more.

I’ll be using btr 660s I think they have the best valve train components in my opinion. We will see I’m just trying to get to 700 so I can have some fun a tx2k this year lol
