Default Single turbo build help/advice.

Hi guys,
ive decided to do a single turbo upgrade on my standard ls2. As well as the normal bits I’ve also got a bap and 80lb injectors.
Will I need to get a boost controller of some sort or should I just rely on the wastgate at 6psi?

Do you want the ability to adjust boost without swapping WG springs? If so the answer is yes.

Your question is so broad and no details that no one can give a real answer.

Sorry I didn’t give much info.
Ideally id like the ability to have 2 settings, low and high boost. Is there any other way to have this option without a electronic boost controller? I’ve also seen the manual boost controllers but not sure how good they are or easy to adjust.

There are a few different ways, but an EBC or 2 stage manual will be easiest. Manuals are fine, just have to turn a **** under hood.

Thanks for the info.
The tuner said he thinks it would be best to use speed density for tuning so have to upgrade the map sensor (i believe the ls2 comes with 1 bar sensor which is insufficient)
which sensor do people upgrade to for speed density.
Also thinking if just getting a wideband will be enough

No, any change to map sensor will need tune adjusted. Also since it is an ls2 will need adapter or to be cut/spliced in.

Thanks. The car will be tuned anyway cause of the turbo, was more for wiring why I was asking.
Apparently there is a 2 bar sensor that’s a straight bolt on without having to do anything with the wiring. Can’t remember the part number though

May be a good idea to share more of your plans for this build and other forum members might be able to give a little insight here and there

Thanks does it also context straight to the ls2 plug? Or would I need the wiring adaptor?
the kit I’ve gone for is from powersource performance, they have made a single turbo kit that allows you to keep the ac.
Should be a straight bolt on but will keep everyone updated once I receive all the parts and start to fit it.

The ZR1 map would need a plug/etc.

The DPE/DSX plug right in, and just need the tune adjusted. Also depends on year, as 2005 have other issues.

Maybe post a link to the turbo kit youre running so everyone has a better idea. There are MAP sensors that are direct plug in, as has already been stated. Just make sure you know what map sensor youre getting as your tuner would need that information. What power levels are you shooting for? A BAP on a stock ls2 Corvette fuel pump wont get you very far in most cases so thats why I ask.

Take your time to think this out consider hot pipes routing very carefully keep all your hot pipes down low and minimize hot piping as much as possible but keeping proper size, when done take em apart and have them ceramic coated this will help control the heat under the hood, if this is where you are planing your turbo mount location.

The best system is a dual low mount smaller turbos they are more expensive but very desirable,

Another good system is a single rear mount as it take the extra weight where you want it and keep engine bay cool and stock & very easy reversible.

As far as the BAP is only a temp band aid I say add an exterior fuel pump it's easy.

TurboXS makes a nice dual/triple stage manual boost controller that is controller with a switch. Worked great when I used it a few years back.

Hi guys,
its been a long process collecting parts but I think I have 99% of what I need now.
The car is booked in to a top garage in a week but in the mean time I’d like to install the bap and innovate gauge.
Can anyone help with where they’ve connected the power for the gauge from (it says on the instructions not to use ignition, audio feed etc but use a supply that comes on with ignition for lighting and dimming)
also is the bap ok to fully install minus connecting the Hobbs switch.
