Default I wanna run Nitrious in my cam only LS3

Hey guys,i just recently purchased a 09 Vette with a Lunati Cam, headers, Intake and Tune. The car made 480whp on a Dynojet. I wanted to add nitrous and I wanted to see what everyone thought i could run that is pretty safe. I obviously know that nothing is absolutely safe but I was thinking of doing a 125-150 shot, I just would like you guys to tell me if its a good idea or not. I am not too familiar with Nitrous but my best friend is running it in his CTSV so i have been learning a bunch of stuff from him. I wanted to keep the stock fueling for now, Thanks for the help guys

stay between 100-150 jetting

you can make a nitrous kit as simple or as complicated as you want, but for the most part here are a few things that you do NOT want to skimp on

afr gauge w/wideband sensor
bottle heater
correct temperature spark plugs w/correct gap for the shot you are running
purge----(this is matter of opinion) but i have always had one just to be safe

First question that I would be asking is if you could pull fuel off the rail and be ok seeing how it's already supporting 480whp.. Assuming the car has a stock pump. I'm not sure how much can be made off a stock pump. I have a standalone on my car for the nitrous.

Great question, that was also one of my concerns, the car is on stock Injectors and Pumps so i guess i am wondering about that too. Thanks for the help guys

I started running out of fuel at the 100 shot jetting on a Cam-Bolt on LS3. Stock fuel pump. Swithced to the standalone. It is extremely worth it while using nitrous.

I never even tried it on my LS2 pump as I've always heard it doesn't flow as much as the LS3 pumps.

98rzvr6, Standalone also gives you advantage to run real good gas (insurance) for the nitrous instead of risking the 93 pump.

nitrous outlet has a direct fit stand alone kit for the c6.....but follow me here

why wouldnt you install a kit and start at a low shot and see what the afr and fueling looks like from a baseline?
1-you have to buy a nitrous kit anyhow
2-you may have the fuel you need @75-100 shot and be happy
3-possibly save 500 bucks?

i dunno, maybe i went about it wrong when i set mine up?

stock pumps
65lb injectors
pulling fuel from rail
afr around 11.9-12.2 @ 100 shot still having 58-60lbs @ the rail

I honestly agree with you, that's what I was gonna do in the beginning, first test it out and then check to see if I need any extra. Thanks man

Injectors have nothing to do with a wet nitrous setup. Your stock injectors should be fine with your setup if they are fine now.

This ^^^

Unless you're going with a dry kit, stock injectors are fine for a wet kit. My concern was pulling off the rail with a stock pump if he's already making 480whp. Will an ls3 pump support 580-630 whp?

On my cam C6 GS, I was good on a 100 shoot with a boost a pump off the rail. Made 570/570.

I have a cam/ heads and header GS. 490 on Ethanol with a mustang. I’ve ran it on bottle for a few months now. 200 shot. If you are going over 125 you should run a stand alone set up. A good set up is safer and cheaper then a failure. You can find a stand alone used usually online. They have built in pump and pressure safety switch. -6an.
I actually have one if you need it.

I'd run either a boost a pump or a hotwire kit and see what it does on a 100shot.

The walbro 450 isn't too hard to install. Will give you plenty of headroom.
