Why can't you stand Pfadt headers? They look nice, but I haven't seen much in terms of real world results.

Because they were nothing but a fancy marketing gimmick that don't make crap for power, and a lot of them don't fit. Every single set I've seen swapped gains 20+rwhp, sometimes upwards of 35+, and tons of torque everywhere. Just another gimmick that a bunch of people bought into before the truth came out.

Ain't the HB in my opinion. More than likely the Pfadt headers are a bottleneck.

Man, I’m thinking that you an Unreal in post #22 might just have talked me into changing my headers...

I think since you're horsepower junkie with zero impulse control you should probably just pull the trigger

I’m about to pull the trigger on a set of these and a ORY from a forum vendor. From this picture, it looks like Kooks has changed the design of its collector to the reverse cone style like LG and ARH? Anyone seen this before?

Thanks for everyone’s input. It is truly appreciated. I ended up ordering a set of 2” Kooks and ORY for an unbelievable price from CCA.
I have no way of knowing whether and what I’ll gain, but what the hell, it’s only money, and I’ve run out of **** to bolt on this car, and, besides, I can say that I have bigger pipe now!!

You can always switch to the 2 1/8" ARH in a year or so.

Haahaha! I do like the idea of their 3.5” collector...Not so fond of that big price, though!
But I think you should know that it was your comment about Pfadt being gimmicky and being **** for power that pushed me over the edge on this...
And besides, I’ve had the Pfadt for nearly 5 whole years now.

I'd be real interested to see the dyno numbers after you changed to those! Congrats on the Kooks they should be a nice upgrade. I actually called Kooks on Friday and talked with one of their sales/tech guys about which header I should choose. I got the response I expected. 1.75" headers for lower torque/street duty if no other mods were planned. 1.875" for any mods at all. He steered me towards the 1.875"..and surprisingly a 2.5" x-pipe. He stated that the 3" exhaust all the way back would resonate and create drone.

Ugh, ignore what he says.

Calling manufacturers for tech is almost always a **** show. Most don't know their *** from a hole in the ground.

But there are exceptions, like IW and Brian Tooley...
I wouldn't buy from the manufacturer in this instance anyhow though, because I would’ve paid well over a couple of hundred more for the same headers...

Oh, I didn't buy anything yet. Kooks even told me they'd prefer I buy from one of their retailers because I could get it cheaper and the small guys could use the business. I thought that was pretty cool of them to say that. They did, however, tell me they don't warranty the regular hi-flow cats if you use a supercharger, but that they would warranty the product if you used the "green" cats. He went on to state that the green cats kept the exhaust gasses hotter and therefore would flow better. He also stated that they had a 90% success rate of not having any check engine lights pop up from the O2 sensors after installation. I realize that this is an easy fix with a dyno tune which I would have done anyway, but I digress. Sorry if I'm starting to sound like a Kooks commercial, and don't mean to hijack your thread. Just thought you guys might find it amusing to hear what was told to me by the manufacturer.

I won’t be able to get any dyno numbers, since we don’t have a dyno here anymore.
I would go with at least the 1 7/8” on any LS3 C6. I can’t for the life of me think of his an x-pipe would make your car drone. I have a cat less 3” X-pipe and my car doesn’t drone at all. And I don’t think that Kooks makes a 2.5” x-pipe for the C6. At least I didn’t see it on their website. The only thing that is 2.5” on the Base/GS X-pipe is the very ends, so that they can mate to the stock mufflers.

No worries man, the more information we post on here, the better informed the Corvette community will be.
l will certainly report back with pictures on my install. I’m a little bit worried about the proximity of the 2” primary on the left side to the steering shaft, only because my engine sits slightly lower than stock with the Hinson mounts. Hopefully that won’t be a problem.
I was wondering what the deal was with those “green” cats. I wonder how well they really stand up to heavy boost? It would be good if they’ve solved that issue.

Dunno 'bout that...
Mine is 3" all the way out including the axle back, and NO drone...

I just swapped my kooks 1 7/8 for a set of kooks 2" headers yesterday and they are a little tighter but do fit good, I may try to make it to the dyno to see the difference
