Default E85 with stock fuel pump and external secondary

Ls3 with Magnuson heartbeat kit at 7.5psi on 93 right now with stock pump and BAP. Just recently installed 1050x injectors in prep for E85. I know I need a secondary at this point to go further. Will the stock pump with say a ECS stage 1 E85 setup work? Will the stock pump live? I figure I’ll run one tank 93, and then one tank E85 back and forth with a flex setup.

The car is is an auto and doing a in tank pump sounds like a nightmare.

Yea, I agree it is plenty. I should have added that I will pulley it down and add a little more boost. My main concern is will the stock pump live with E85 and the secondary pump?

I am running stock pump , BOP , ECS stage 1 fuel system (non-e85) , ID1000 and meth. Been on the car going on 2 years as a daily driver on 14lbs of boost. On e85, my injector duty cycle runs in the mid 90s without meth and around 70 with.

Hmm any others? Or is the stock pump not ethanol friendly?

It is hit or miss. You can take your chances or not. Some people get a few thousand miles, others seem to last fine. Definitely is a crap shoot.

Ecs or the A&A kit. They have a double pumper set up I just put on the car. Says good to 1000+hp.

I run the stock pump with DIY dual 380 external pump setup.. by fuel consumption calculations should be enough for 1300 on straight E85, I have also ran a BAP and made 690 on 93/meth so any aux kit will be enough for you. I'd recommend UPP fuel kit, $700 comes with everything, however if you know anything about piecing together some AN fittings you can make your own for $300-500.

I like the ECS bulkhead, but at the time didn't want to shell out $180 for it. The A&A kit is the holley fuel pump which is 2 walbro 255 pumps, vs ECS stage 2 which is the A1000. At the time I heard both fuel pumps were prone to failure by some threads on yellowbullet, so I just went with AEM/Quantum 380lph pumps... they're like 100$ a piece and I can swap in like an hour.

However I run a flex tune and switch between E85 and 93 just to prolong my fuel system as much as I can, it sits for a few weeks at a time so I always leave it on 93 or I'd be worried about my pump internals as well as my motor.

Problem with the ECS or A&A kit, like he is asking, is if stock pump dies, he is still in the position of dropping tanks to put in an e85 compatible pump. Like I said, it is really hit or miss.

Yep, that's why I say cycle fuels to at least try and get it to live longer since E85 can be so corrosive. However if he's not trying to drop the tanks for now an aux pump would be the best bang for the buck. I've been running E/93 through my 115,000mi stock pump for a few years now even after having a BAP on it for a while and it still holds steady pressure.

You can also ad Lucas ethanol treatment to the fuel. Helps lube the system. I ran flex fuel on stock pump for a few thousand miles before switching out the in tank to walbro 450. As said above some pumps have failed. I ran the Lucas stuff when running the stock pump with ethanol

yes. That’s my fear.

I have been told by a few to run a tank or two if E and then switch to 93 for a tank. That maybe the trick...
