Default ECS stage 1 vs stage 1 E85

I was looking at ecs fuel kit but had some questions, from looking at the pictures on their site the only difference from the stage 1 vs stage 1 e85 in a A1000 and 8/10an lines vs aem380 and 6/8an lines. After looking at the installation guide it looks like the e85 kit has a regulator with return line, unless their install guides are wrong on their website? I already have a aem 400 inline and A1000 sitting in my garage along with multiple an fittings and PTFE line. Could I just buy their bulkhead and fuel line adapter and run one of my external pumps on a hobbs switch? What is the benefit of running a regulator with return line? I already have a walbro 450 in the tank but looking to bump up to 800ish at the tire on e85. My main question is, for 800 on e85 do I need a regulator and return line and if so is the included with their e85 kit?

As far as stage 1 goes, there is no regulator/return line involved. Both regular and E85 just have an external pump that is T'd into the factory supply line at the tank. Their stage 2 kit is what incorporates a regulator and return line. Having a return line will keep from fuel getting heated up by the pressure build-up. You could easily use your setup and add a return line and regulator, along with the bulkhead, to have a cheaper and easier fuel system that will support 800+ hp all day.

I didn't see a stage 2 listed on the online store so that was my confusion. Is there a certain point HP wise were a regulator and return line is necessary?

The first picture is very old, we have upgraded the fuel pump and the hoses are premade and pressure tested now. (second picture)

The E85 kit has stated has a -8 return and a -10 feed. We do not offer the stage 2 as a kit because we have found that by the time you need that everyone has a different set up so you have to mount your own regulator and make the lines yourself, but it's all set up for you to do that at anytime.

The stage 1 E85 system will easily handle 800 rwhp without having to boost reference it.

I hope that helps, feel free to ask any questions you have.

Doug - How are you seeing the stock fuel pumps work with E85 and your stage 1 E85 kits? Are the stock pumps lasting?

Yup, no problems. Never had one fail yet, I wonder if the fuel pumps are the same part number for flex fuel cars.

Great question! Mines an 2008 and looking at getting your ECS E85 kit - but am worried about the stock pump failing. Lots of threads here stating it will fail.

Sorry to hijack the thread - but may be good info for the OP too.

No worries! I was also concerned about stock pump on E85, ill be running E85 almost always so I put a walbro 450 in so I didn't have to worry.

My stock pump has 115k on it and been ran through with a BAP and E85 for a year or so now, still holding pressure. I cycle E85 and then 93 driving it around town..
