A&A Secondary Drive + Mechman alternator
Since I'm moved to the mechman alternator the belt is too loose and there isn't much adjustment on the tensioner on the A&A Secondary drive kit, has anyone figured out a solution other than a custom belt?

Why would it be a custom belt? Just order one size down.

I've got the A&A secondary drive and a Mechman alternator. I'm using the K060365 belt with no issues. I beat on it at a roll racing event two weeks ago and it worked just fine.

How did you get it on, did you take the tensioner off then put it back on once the belt was on?

The K060365 was tight as hell on the stock alternator. I had to completely remove the alternator to get the belt on.
On the Mechman, the K060365 was actually pretty loose and slipped right over the alternator pulley, which is smaller. However, with the spring tensioner, I haven't had any belt squeal or drop in voltage at high rpms.

I went the next one down which is quite a bit smaller.
K060355RPM K06 13/16” x 36 1/8” - Black 6 35.56 903 36.125 918
K060370RPM K06 13/16” x 37 5/8” - Black 6 37.13 943 37.625 957 <-- size that came with the kit.

The K060365 fits on so easily with the Mechman that I went and bought a K060360 just in case, but haven't needed to use it.
The K060370 supplied by A&A was giving me belt squeal on the stock alternator so that's why I went one size down.
Research the part number. You'll have to look beyond Gates RPM.

Google gates belt size. Why are you looking at RPM belts? Just run a normal.
Or google napa belt sizes. Either one gives you a huge list. They make a 365/360/355, etc etc. No reason to go down to a 355, or even consider running an RPM belt unless you like to burn money.

365 belt here with billet tech alternator and a&a secondary drive and it works perfect... you don't need an rpm belt, the regular gates belt will work just fine

I've found one have to go get it tomorrow I was trying to use the same belt type and quality that was supplied in the kit. You would think they would make the same sizes in both types of belts.. guess not.

Same with any other belt size chart.
RPM belts are made for blowers and crazy applications, and have very limited selection. Zero reason to need one for alternator belt. The normal belt catalog is sorted by size, in order, so not hard to find at all.
Could have always called Napa, autozone, etc etc etc and just said you need one belt size down from a 370 or whatever.

Are you sure it's coming from that belt? Does it do it all the time or just at start up?
If it got worse with the shorter belt, I would think that's because you're putting more load on the pullies. You can try using a stethoscope to isolate which pulley.
