Default new orleans 1/2 mile event prep
gearing up for my first 1/2 mile event...what tires would be preferred....R888 or my hoosier DR's? how stable would the DR'S (17" setup) be at high speeds? but I would be spinning the R888's.....6sp manual 650whp+

You will be fine on the R888’s at that power. Hell i’m gonna run my R888R’s at the event. Hoosier dr’s would be a bad idea at those speeds.

ill be there as well. i was planning on running my M&Hs but sounds like i should stick to my nt05r?? my first event outside streets of mexico

What tire height are each of the setups you have? Best bet would be to go through the traps in 4th gear if possible.

DR'S = 315/35/17......6K RPM shifts probably....3:42 gears
