high output alternator
Do I run the risk or damaging my electronics if I run a 200 or 220amp high output alternator on my z06? I have aftermarket fans, fuel pumps with bap and a sound system.

Contact Bret B, get a mechman. Should be no issue.

200/220amp is the max--doesn't mean it's cranking that out all the time.

Agree with all of the above. Talk to Bret aka “Blownbluez06” on here. You might not even need anything more than one of the 170amp Mechman alternators that he sells, along with the heavy gauge charge wire, which you can get from Bret as well. He’s a super guy to deal with and you won’t get a better deal anywhere that I could find. Just got back from vacation last night to find one of his beautiful black anodized 170amps sitting in my garage. Can’t wait to bolt that on.

It is just a piece of cable. Nothing to look at.
Bret also sells the 200A+ versions. Just get ahold of him. He is the goto person for anything alternator/charging related on these cars.

I have a 240 amp mechman...with that said I run a larger cable from front to the rear...and from the alternator to the fuse box...no problems...Bret is the man!!
Remember larger cable...less resistance

Melting Slicks
I have had two Mechs crap out on me and have a couple of buddies that have had issues as well. I now run a Nations and have had zero issues.

thanks to everyone for your replies.
I am going to replace everything with 1/0 awg wire
Should I remove the stock alternator to starter charge wire? not sure if it branches off to other components.
I am going to run a charge wire from the alternator directly to the fuse box. Should I use one of the agm heavy duty fuses?
