Fail safe for Hobbs switch?

You can wire up the failsafe to a relay to either trigger the fuel pump to come on (if the hobb switch fails, if the pump fails you're sol), or as an IAT tricker relay and have the ECU pull timing from the map. With the IAT tricker relay, the ECU can respond within 25rpms. Faster than you can react on your own.

I was thinking about this the other day. Not sure if this would work, but could you hook up a fuel pressure safety switch (like the nitrous guys use) that interrupts the signal
to the throttle body if it drops below a certain psi? It would be easy to test. You could just wire up a switch inline with the throttle body and cut it while you're driving and see what the ecm does. Just a thought.
