Is a Max'd Ti really the best street set up?

Thats my thing, I want to make 1k plus but I dont want to spin everywhere I go and get my *** kicked cause I cant hook. From what I have read, 800ish is perfect for a vette thats street driven. Dont want to do a 15inch conversion and drag suspension/

Even with slicks, with 1k at the wheels on the street, traction will be very limited. I was running Mickey Thompson Sportsman Pros with 683 at the wheels and could make tire smoke on the highway, no problem.

If you want 850+ and hook decent on a street, you want a GTR.
Even 15s and drag radials hooking 1000+ is a chore. On a good street, with fresh tires, aired down, heated up, and on a warm day, you can do it for a few passes.
Plus once you get past 850 reliability of everything goes out the window and cost goes way up.

i can’t afford 15k transmissions.
Going to stay with the TI. Going to build a nice motor for it. Need to decide on 383 or 402.

neither, stock cubes with a good head on it. strokers on stock blocks like to rock the pistons. trust me, people that have been there done that are giving you good advice.

If you can't afford $15k+ transmissions, you can't afford a 1000+rwhp vette either. I always find that funny, as building a good reliable 1000+rwhp vette is EASY $60k+ in parts. People throw out stuff like that above, and if a $15k tranny is a concern, a 1000+rwhp car shouldn't even be a thought.
Decent reliable vette tranny to hold 1000+ is $15k+ too, and only has 2 speeds and sucks for highway driving. At least a 15k GTR tranny still drives nice.

Up to you. Trade off reliability for more low end. Just means you spin tires at 50% throttle instead of 70%.
