Default Oil Weights for stock bottom end

Nothing but old threads on the subject. RPM is saying 15W50 which seems awfully high for stock bearing clearances. A&A agrees this seems high and just runs stock oil weights. Anyone with any further input on the subject? Just for reference I've been running a 30W for 40K miles with no issues.

Nothing? Damn, you can't even mention oil on any other car forum without 500 opinions. I just bumped up to Amsoil 10/40W.

I ran 15-50 in my LS7 and plan to continue running that in my new setup.

If you’re saying you run sae 30 with no issues it’s evident you don’t drive in the winter.

Not a straight 30W, 10W/30, but you are correct on winter driving, car gets stored around October.
