Default Dyno Numbers!

After quite a bit of effort and a few roadblocks my supercharger is installed and engine tuned. It's been non stop rain so unfortunately don't have much street time with it yet. I really appreciate all of the advice you folks gave to get me here.

LS3 motor with SBE.

Before going FI the dyno showed 468 rwhp and 455 ft/lb of torque.

Mods at that time were:
  • BTR stage 2 cam
  • Vararam Intake
  • VMaxx throttle body
  • Billy Boat long tube headers
  • Borla Stinger exhaust

This morning on the dyno it put down 747 rwhp and 641 ft/lb of torque at 10-11 lbs of boost.

Added parts were:
  • A&A V2 Ti trim supercharger w/ 3.6" pulley
  • Boost-a-pump
  • 80lb injectors
  • Alky Control Meth kit - dual nozzle

Pre FI

Thanks for reminding me I left that out! I updated my original post.

Just got home from a fairly spirited drive now that the roads are dryer. Wow, what a difference. It's less of a kick you into the seat than I imagined when I hit boost and more of a feeling that I'm never running out of speed. I'm guessing that's due to the centri SC. A roots style would probably hit me harder in the gut. Still taking it pretty easy though until I get a feeling for it and decide what tires to go with.

Nice gains!! I'm running NT05r's currently at 630whp and I have zero complaints with them.

Have you gotten the NT05r's wet yet?

No, the car isn't my daily so I haven't taken it out when it's rainy.

Solid numbers. Some good drag radials will make it even more fun.

I am not a fan of these tires. I have some 345 nt05rs on my z06 and at only 450whp it just blows them away. I will use them for the dyno when we turn the car up and then throw them in the corner of the garage and switch to a et street.

Great numbers though OP torque band looks perfect!

Wow, good stuff! What's the duty cycle on those 80lb injectors at that hp level?

Nice numbers! My numbers are virtually identical to yours and if it's not a daily driver or not going to see a lot of rain I highly recommend Nitto r888r tires. You don't lose any handling but you gain an insane amount of traction.

My car weighs 3150 and when those tires are hot on a warm day I won't spin second gear (on the street) versus spinning PS2s in third at 80+ mph.

Have fun with the "new ride" that much power in a light Vette that doesn't spin the tires will surprise a lot of big horsepower cars that are heavy and or fight for traction.

I'm not sure honestly.

Thanks. I've been looking at the 888s but do get stuck in the rain often. My Cup 4S have been handling surprisingly well on the highway so far. Even before the SC they wouldn't catch 1-3 though.

I have 888R on all 4s and I spin them in 2nd and sometimes 3rd even when its hot. (making near 800whp) however ive got caught in a snow storm and rain multiple times and I would say not to really worry to much.

Big difference between 888R and the newer R888R. If your spinning the latter your making some big numbers.

Yes have R888R 295/30/18 and 335/30/18 front, rear. And at 30psi of tire pressure I spin them till about 90ish mph.

I have R888's on my rear tires of my Mustang, and they are fine in the rain as long as you use common sense.

With that said, I'm probably going to go with NT05R's on my Supercharged Grand Sport and save $200.

NT05R @ 650 rwhp and mine is a daily. So long as you aren't stomping on it and use common sense that says they are not your standard summer tire in the rain, you will be fine. Toyo R888R are good, but probably the worst of any drag radial in the rain from my experience. The ET Street S/S actually did decent in the rain which was nice, but at 100+ the back end wanted to dance around on those tires which it did not do with the R888R or NT05R... Of course, if you have the wheels to fit them, the Nitto NT555R can also be a consideration.

The r888r are not a drag radial. They are bad in the rain though? I have the r888’s and I think they are awesome in the rain and I’m at 817rwhp. I would like to try the r888r once these are toast. R888r look cool too

Proper tire pressure in your et streets will fix the floating issues on the big end. I complained about same thing about my et streets that are on the blower car and a friend said it wasnt normal fixed the tire pressure and now its great. I had it up to 160 racing a h/c z06 the other day and it felt solid. That being said i got caught in the rain going to lunch one day and on the way back with zero throttle input decelerating on a off ramp i hit a little puddle and hydroplaned and nearly sent the car into the guard rail. These are not worn out tires either maybe 3 weeks of various driving not a DD since they were new.

Still dont know how you guys are hooking a NT05R though i went out yesterday and rolled into it at 70mph and just blows them off. The turbo car doesnt make big power either yet. Maybe they just need some heat and i dont drive the car enough who knows.

Not sure, I mean I'm not making big power numbers as it's a nice weather daily and I have a '65 C10 that will be the weekend warrior vehicle once completed. But the NT05R hook well for me, maybe it's my shock adjustment for front and rear to help weight distribution? I have Viking double adjustable coilovers on front and back.

The R888R once warmed up hooked very well, but after testing a couple options the NT05R just seemed the best all arounder for a street car that only sees track use maybe 5 times a year at the strip and maybe once at a road course when travelling. Sees Mexico more often than anything else, lol.

I wouldn't be opposed to testing the Street S/S again, and maybe I'll do that and play with tire pressure when current NT05R are in need of replacement.
