Best LS3 sheet metal intake for boost?
What is the best sheet metal intake for boost? Looking at the Holley low rise sniper to fit under stock hood.

Best what ?
best price ? best rpm ? best design ? best what ?
a cheap chinese intake would never fall under the category of best anything.

Best bang for the buck that does not hurt perforce. I have read that many sheet metal intakes you see on ebay do not perform as well as the factory Ls3 intake.

Basically any short runner sheet metal intake is going to hurt performance.

Whether that matters to you or not...is up to you. How much it will be noticeable...will likely depend on the mode of boost you're opting for too.
If you want the Holley mainly for looks or whatever, then just buy it.

most of the intakes that clear the stock hood do not perform any better than a stock intake does.
My buddy went to a cheap Ebay intake on his C6Z Ysi Car and lost 25WHP on the dyno.
Unless you go with something that has long runners it won't perform any better.
You could consider BTRs new intake as it will clear the hood and still appears to have decent length runners.

But as for the YSi car....lets face it, if you like the look of it, would you really ever feel 25hp on such a build ? The reality is no

The sniper race version is a much better take on the original. I'm not sure if that's offered in the LS3 port, though.
I run the BTR cathedral manifold on my boosted application and I love it. Maybe wait until they release the LS3 version of that manifold? MAybe next year?

Holley Sniper, all I know is I trust sheet metal to hold 18 lb of boost more than I do plastic I had two issues with the plastic intakes in the past I'm all done with them just my experience.

Bare in mind you're placing that trust in thin metal, put together in China. And people have burst them.
Not to mention the one I have...the metal resonates and sounds bloody awful.

like to see a comparo between the btr and the holley race It's not thin and will take anything you can throw at it
I love the looks of the Carbon PTR but 1300 is a bit much (looks great and did the best NA in the shootout)
LS3 will outperform most under 6k, but the motors do better 6500-7500 with the bigger heads depending on cam timing.
I'd shoot for whatever provides the most area under the curve on the street and you'll be much happier
the new long runner twin throttle body setup looks very good and works between 2-7 with great midrange and would look great on a twin turbo setup.
