Methanol will almost certainly get you more power:

Was wondering of a better way to skip meth and e85 all together I’ve seen these things on YouTube octanium dual additive and BOOSTane octane boosters suppose to bump compression up 8 points. You guys think this would be fine?
ill be on 91 octane and this below 800whp (7-8) should I just have it tuned for 91 and add these in at every fill up? 427 11:1 compression
they also have a race one that adds 23 points so that would put me at 114 octane

Although the fact it's a 427, will go a long way to needing very low boost to achieve a reliable setup even with poor fuel. But by the time you add quantities of boosters to the levels you're talking about, that adds a fair cost to consumable fuel ?
You could probably tune it quite safely at 800, and then just use a suitable octane booster as an added measure instead of making the engine reliant on it. Also note many may not make the lambda sensors happy over extended use.
Also what form of boost ? charge temps etc ?

He’s gonna be using a centri blower and I’d be extremely concerned making 800+ with 91 pump gas and just an “octane booster” I don’t believe I’ve seen a set up do that before honestly.

I'm sure LPE and others have done it many times. Just never on such high compression.
And given it's a 427, it should take little effort at all, without any undue strain. But his high compression is the only area of contention.

My old setup made 911rwhp on straight 91. Then again almost never ran that.

E85 is great for high compression, even at 11:1. With E85 you see great benefits at 12.5 all the way to 13.5:1.

E85 is great...but E85 is not available for everyone. Presumably he falls into that category, otherwise he would have asked can he do 800hp on E85 ?

So theoretically what if I ran my 10.8/11:1 engine to 700-750whp on 91 with I guess no knock we’ll run like 5-10* what ever makes no nock and I just add the additives after for safety but not performance use? Looking like meth if this doesn’t work e85 seems like it would net me 1-4mpg im lead foot

E85 also isn’t available here but I’m willing to keep 55 gal drums but having a 1-4mpg seems crazy i would be fine with 5-8 I’ll do 80% spirited driving 20% cruising

Seems like meth/91 or e85 has to be the way seems smarter from what you guys are saying hoping for 800whp but 700s I’ll be happy

You guys think this intank and a external dual pump from a and a or dsx external will be good for 800whp on e?

My supercharged C7 is tuned on Boostane professional. 32oz. mixed with 18 gallons of 93 equals 102 octane. It’s great stuff, not as good as E85 but a lot cheaper then upgrading the fuel system.

Of course it will, but that’s not the question. The question was for long term usage or as a permanent solution. For low 700’s sure a little meth works all day, but trying to support 800+ with 91 and meth is going to be problematic down the road. I guess if you’ve got “**** you” money and your LS7 “jihads” itself no big deal...buy new set up. If you don’t have that kinda money not spending an extra $2k-$3k on a good fuel systems seems dumb when a new set up is gonna cost way more than $2k as we all know..

From everything I have read to be true, when these octane boosters claim a bottle will increase a certain amount of pump gas octane 8 points don't mean your 93 octane pump gas will go to 101 octane (8.0 octane increase)
What it actually means that the is the 93 pump gas will be 94.1 octane (an increase of 0.8 points of an octane)

I looked at using Octanium, the VP Racing Fuels octane booster when I was going on a trip in case I was unable to find 93. From what I read it works as advertised but I saw several postings that occasional use is ok but long term use was not recommended. I don't remember the specifics but it had to do with residue from the chemicals they use to boost octane.
I consider the alky pump to be a maintenance it and replace it at regular intervals.
I am working on converting to dual so I can burn E85. I may ditch the alky then.
