Looking for factory navigation system for 2005 C6 and information to install it into a 2005 C6 that didn't come with it, any help will be appreciated.

Default Have we stumpped the vette experts?

Seems a lot of people are asking the same question about what it would take to self-install a factory OEM Denso Nav into a 2005/2006 c5/c6 vette but know one on this forum has answers. What happened to the days when the internet had everything you wanted to know with pictures to boot? Can a 2007 nav unit be installed in a 2006 vette? Is bose or xm required? Is it plug and play or do I need to be an Electrical Engineer? Some of the aftermarket installs shown on this site suggest its a wiring nightmare.

I'm new to this whole corvette thing, so i had no clue about wiring or anything. I guess my best bet would be to buy a wrecked corvette with navigation and work from there... O, and by the way, thanks for the reply, it doesn't seem like anybody wants to help me out on this one

WHY?

Go aftermarket. The aftermarket units are much better, have better features, cost less.

I like the thought of it being factory and looking like it was meant to be there, so I try to go OEM on all of my cars.

Default After market it is. AVIC-D3

I gave up and went with the AVIC-D3. I prefer to keep with factory parts myself but couldn't find enough information to proceed. The D3 is very nice (though small). One cool thing is it has a simple IPOD adaptor and an awesome IPOD screen. Also, you can control the color of the screen and buttons. Now I have a black/red/white NAV to match my victory red vet.

Nav unit from 2005 C6 will plug in place of radio, you need antenna which plugs in also, very simple operation, just did one. might have to have NAV unit taken out of theftlock mode, 2 minutes with dealer machine.

Not sure if different year would work, might need additional connection for steering wheel radio controls.

Pioneer Z1 apparently is the boss aftermaket unit.

Aftermarket, although better could well hurt resale.

I have a 2006 Nav unit that I just bought on *bay. It has a scratched screen. My thought was to polish the screen to remove scratch. You can have it for what I paid. $425

I bought this unit as I was looking at a C6 with out Nav. Ended up buying one this last week that had NAV. Now I have no use for this NAV unit. If some one wants it for a reasonable price here it is. Screen scratches are now polished out.

Gm part # is 15791220. The # on the display assembly is 15263014.
It has Four connectors on the back plus the antenna plug. starting on the left side facing the rear a white plug 8 connectors a Grey plug 24 connector. a black plug 12 connector a small Grey plug 1 connector. As I stated I paid $425. All I want is what I paid. I have followed a few of these that have went for $900 and up.
