F/S GM J-46079 TPMS Tool & Case
For sale...SPX Kent-Moore J-46079 TPMS reset tool referenced in GM service manual for C6 and other GM products, used for diagnosing, resetting and servicing of TPMS sensors and systems. Excellent tool to have for swapping tires/rims/sensors (wheel sets), for example, for use when switching from daily driver to track sets of wheels/tires/sensors.
This sensor re-learn cannot be done with a simple magnet on a C6 like it could be done on the older C5, thus a tool like this or similar tools (e.g. Bartec, OTC or equal with less functionality) are required. Note that the Bartec does not display sensor ID, nor pressure like this "top of the line" J-46079 tool does on it's integral LCD display. (I've found that the sensor ID # is handy when removing/installing Z51 non-directional wheel/tire sets to assist in keeping them side specific if you so desire, and also for logging locations during 4 tire rotations on other GM cars and trucks).
Also handy for checking tire pressures of spare sets of tires/wheels/sensors in storage without having to unstack or unbox to access the valve stems.
Tool includes upgraded v.3.3 software (3/20/06 = latest version for J-46079).
Tool also works with new Tahoes, Suburbans & Silverado's with this v.3.3 updated software.
This tool comes with instructions on how to reset C6 sensors, AND custom blow molded case (I have 3 total and am liquidating another one).
$349 delivered.
See pictures taken during & after software upgrade for additional info:
Check eBay (advanced search completed items for J-46079). These are now routinely going for well over $300 to $350 (primarily due to the upcoming NHTSA '08 mandate that all cars be equipped with TPMS), when they are even available on eBay, and they are usually the older v.1.0 or v.2.0 software that is not full GM line compatible like these upgraded v.3.3 units.
Regards,

Sold.
Although, I may have another J-46079 tool available F/S in about a week.
I'll post separately at that time if so.
(I've bought an OTC 3833 for myself, and may still sell my original 1 of 4 J-46079's. The OTC 3833 looks just like the J-46079, and works across all brands. It also comes with a C5 "donut" magnet and service manuals for all makes and all models, not just strictly GM, vehicles currently available with TPMS thru the 2006 sw update.)
