Please tell me what you think of my situation. I have a 2006 Corvette and a guy from L.A. sent me pics of 5 spoke chrome wheels which are on his car that I'm interested in buying.I live in Milwaukee, Wi so he was going to ship them to me.He was going to buy spider wheels for his car from west coast corvette and have the guy their box them and ship them to me. He wanted to have the guy call me and give me a tracking number and then I transfer the money into his account.i TOLD HIM WHEN I RECEIVE THE RIMS AND INSPECT THEM I would then transfer money into his account. He didn't want to do that. I talked to my bank and the girl there didn't feel comfortable about giving money to a private party in a different state without seeing the product in hand. What are your thoughts? Thanks, Mike

I would expect to pay in full for a set of rims before the seller shipped them to me. That being said, I might write the deal up and email the seller and ask him to reply that he agrees or sign it and fax it to me. Then pay via paypal. Maybe you could have some level of recourse if the deal went south....maybe. The bottom line, if you're not completely comfortable with it, bail... unfortunately you might miss a good opportunity too.

Or maybe ask a CF brother in the area to go inspect them.

BTW, I would be happy to do an inspection for Southern Nh area, Manchester, Concord adn surrounding 25 mile radius or so. I'm more familiar w/ C5, C6 stuff.

I would be happy to help with Central/North Alabama (Tuscaloosa, Birmingham, Cullman, Huntsville). I have C6 Z06 but Im fairly competent on most all Vettes specifically in mechanical areas.
