This is our most popular Tunnel Plate. A full 1/4" thick 6061-T6 aluminum with double the heat protection.
First we coat our Tunnel Plates with a specially engineered ceramic coating. Originally designed to add stiffness to the C5 and C6 chassis, remarkably this ceramic coated plate alone has shown temperature-reducing qualities in the console area of 44F degrees on the C5 and 29F degrees on the C6 when compared to the stock tunnel plates.
To further reduce the radiated heat, we permanently bond our Original “Thermal-Abs” shielding to the underside of our Tunnel Reinforcement Plates. The result is extraordinary.
With the combined Ceramic Coated Tunnel Plate AND Thermal-Abs, we were consistently dropping the temperatures at the central tunnel by as much as 45 degrees on a C5 and 34 degrees on a C6 when compared to the stock OEM tunnel plates.
This is the best of both worlds. All the stiffening benefits that made our Tunnel Reinforcement Plates a popular mod. and now unparalleled heat shielding with our “Thermal-Abs”.

Drifting
How thick is it compared to stock? The flange on my h pipe hits the stock tunnel plate when the pipes are cold and it rattles really badly. Id like to do this mod but if it shortens the gap even more between the plate and flange, the rattle may get worse

Safety Car
I had my 1/4 thermal plate installed yesterday with AR headers and z51 sway bars. I noticed an immediate drop in center console temp even with the headers. I drove the car for an hour or about 45-50 miles and usually by then you feel the heat coming through the center console and lid. It made a huge difference. The car feels tighter overall also but I was truly impressed at the heat reduction mostly. This will be a great benefit in the summer time.
