Default WTB: spark plug metal boots

Just purchased my corvette and realized it didn't have the metal boots on the bottom where the wires attach to the spark plugs. Apparently the dealer won't sell me just the metal part, I'd have to buy an entire new set of wires.

Looking to buy this week so I can autocross on Sunday, I don't want to melt the wires since the car has headers.

Thanks,
Andrew

If you have a good set of high temp wires on the car it shouldn't be an issue. I have the msd wires and headers with no problems.

Ok, I have the MSD wires in the mail so I'll just live without the metal boots for now.

Is it even worth it to run the koolsox or other protective wrap around the MSD 8.5 superconductor wires?

No, save your money. The wires are good and made for high temps. You can check them on a hot summer day to see how they look but you should not have any problems.

Depends on what you are doing. I have cooked every kind of wire. Some kind of heat shielding is usually a good thing.

Thanks for the offers but I have the koolsox on MSD wires, no need for the stock metal boots.
