Im tellin' ya this thing will pay for itself in the first week !
From Florida to North Carolina and back, a good 6 times this unit easily saved me gave me a heads up to radar far beyond its detectable range and even once on laser! I thought I was a goner on the laser, but nope, I wasn't close enough for him to get a good sniff!
and to sweeten the deal, I bought it right here with Southerncarparts because when I had questions? They had the answers. They don't sell to you and then forget you.
I've never had a detector perform as well as this 9500ix.

Just ordered your combo
12 GS vert--->ECS s/c --->Escort radar!
I've been a V1 guy for the last 10yrs till I crossed the invisicord wire by accident and burned the unit...didnt need a radar since I sold my 08 c6 last yr. In the last 10 yrs, Ive gotten 1 laser ticket....saved gazillion times. Hope I made the right choice

If so, just call Escort get a warranty replacement. Not hard, just give them a call and they will get you a replacement if it is broken. Did you get it from us? Shoot me a PM with your info, if it has not been too long I may able to just swap it out for you.

The MirrorTap, just like the Invisicord, is a power cord replacement for the dangling cigarette lighter cord. The MirrorTap allows for you to draw power directly from the power source in the rear of the rear view mirror. By using a MirrorTap, you are removing the dangling curled wire of the cigarette lighter power plug. So, no, it's not actually needed, but it is needed for the finished low profile installation look that the BlendMount is designed for.
Hope this information helps!

Just finnished the mirror mount kit for the 9500ix (Blendmount). What a great unit , looks good, installes well ( except trying to get them pesky wires pushed in ) What a professional unit. I am so impreesed.

Can someone give me some info on the MirrorTap vs Escort Smart Cord?
What capability does the 9500ix lose if I use a MirrorTap power cord instead of
a direct wire Escort Smart Cord? I'm thinking of going with the direct wire smart
cord and routing around the windshield edge to the mirror. I'm not real clear on
what the smart cord gains me.

The MirrorTap cord pulls power right from the back of your rear view mirror (right where the detector is located). The Escort Hardwire cord is essentially a long MirrorTap cord that is designed to plug into your fuse box. There is not reason or benefit at all to going through the trouble of running the hardwire cord into the fuse box when you can use the Mirrortap and get power right from the Mirror...
No additional benefits at all to use the Escort hardwire cord other than the extra hour or so you will spend in your car trying to route and wire the hardwire cord
Does this make sense?
Good question though....

Go to the OP web site and look at all the options
There are many, I like the blendmount and mirror tap also
In my C6 I used the Direct Wire Smart Cord and have the Remote readout where it will catch my eye. My RD is mounted up as high as possible under the XM box and as close to the mirror on pass side, so it can barely be seen from the driver side.
