All you need to know to go LS3 on a LS2 block
A ls3(or L92) heads generally are 68cc-70cc plus and Ls2 heads are 64cc. Ls3 heads will need to be milled to maintain proper compression .020-.030(it cost me $60 dollars). You can use a LS3 intake, but you will need a LS3 map sensor as they are a bolt on not clip on like a LS2.The better choice would be a L76 intake(uses LS2 clip on map sensor) which can be had new on a auction site(unnamed on purpose)for $200(that is what I use). The LS3 head has rectangular ports and Ls2 is cathedral port on the intake and heads(exhaust port is not a factor). You will also need a LS3/LS7(Z06) injector as the intake excepts a different length. Also the exhaust rockers are off-sett design so you would need 8 LS3/L92 rockers .Also you will need a Ls3 head gasket that is 4.080 or larger.I used GM performance parts cnc LS3/l92 88958698 heads(at $599 complete per) as they outflow "ALL" cathedral port heads on the market at 360cfm intake and 260 exhaust. With a combo like this you should see over 500+hp and 480+ftlbs of torque at the flywheel with headers,CAI and a tune with a stock cam and stock idle. This not a scenario this is the SLPZL500 combo tweaked which is DYNO verified at 440+ RWHP and 430RWTQ on a DYNO.
