k, there are a few things that changed.
1) The blades open in opposite directions. The silver blade lays forward while the gold blade lays back.
2) The internal electronics are different. The silver blade you can NOT remove the motor housing with out doing some damage, there are hard connections between the motor housing and the blade housing.
The gold blade you can pop off the motor housing everything is contained in that separate housing. I'm sure this is why the price of the LS3/LS7 is much cheaper. The motor housing is interchangeable with other blade housings and cheaper to produce.
3) The electronics are different between the silver and gold blade. Mainly with the WOT limits. This is why when you put a gold blade on a car that originally and a silver blade it will throw a code when you go WOT, the computer see's different voltage values and freaks out throwing codes.
