I bought a set for a 2008 C6 coupe. the wheels came all nice but there were vibration from the wheels that balancing can not remove even with the Hunter Roadforce machine. Contacted Jhonathan he was very willing to resolve the issue by having the factory send me 2 replacement wheels. With the replacements wheel, the vibration is still at a level that is not acceptable at 70mph. Now i am back to stock rim with 6 rims sitting in the garage and $500 spent on several attemps to remount and rebalancing to make the new wheels work. This is on top of the $800 spent on the wheels and tax and 4 weeks of frustration.
Had a few email conversations back and forth to resolve this but ran into a dead end. *JWmotoring website policy listed that the wheel must be checked on the balancer for roundness and run out before mounting, it is non refundable once it is mounted. However did not list the manufacturer specs of acceptance on roundness and run out, saying that it is the installer knowledge and responsibility to know that the wheel is bad.
*The installer's can do that check but saying that it is the end user's risk to use replica rim because they did not supply these rims.
*Every end user with their Vette getting their new wheels installed in the shop are eager to give this new look a try. Without a clear specicification from the wheel manufacturer, if we see the run out is high, we just think that is still acceptable due to quality control in the wheel factory. How do we know it is so bad to the point that the car can not drive at speed of 70mph?
I understand the rule of the forum regards to dispute between member and vendor. This reply message is not intended to be one.
This message is to list: 6 ZR1 style rim Gun Metal colour, mounted used for 30 miles. will fit non-wide body C6 Corvette. $600. i will cover shipping.
