How are these advertised by being better for cars with side skirts? I'm only curious because they look even taller than regular pucks .

That's exactly why they're better, If you have side skirts, you can't see the shorter pucks as the side skirts extend beyond the bottom of the frame and hide the pucks. These will extend beyond the side skirts making them visible and more easily accessible
