Default FS: C6 Akrapovic Slip-On feeler

Hey everyone,

Full disclosure: I am new to this forum and do not own a corvette. I do own a 2013 Cadillac CTS-V wagon 6MT and am a member of the ctsvowners.com forum (user name Guyver08). I was in the process of modifying my rear bumper to accommodate the C6 Akrapovic exhaust and tips but due to recent set backs from the bodyshop, not sure if this is going to happen any time soon. Therefore, I'm in between waiting for this project to start again or just give up and sell the exhaust and go a different route. So, I just wanted to see if there would be any interest in my exhaust with you all here. Moderators - I apologize in advanced if this thread violates any of your forum rules. If so, please let me know and I will revise to conform to the rules.

I bought a set of used C6 Akrapovic mufflers and tips early last year from what I believe was a auto salvage yard in Wisconsin via ebay. The current condition of the exhaust is not pristine. The stainless steel has changed color from what appears to be from heat and exposure to the environment (see pictures below). The exhaust valves appear to be in working order (opens and closes with ease; have not hooked up to a vacuum line to verify). The tips are not perfect either. It looks like the previous owner probably had a steep driveway or something since they are a bit scratched up (see pictures below). Lastly, in order to test fit the mufflers underneath my car, i had to cut the over-the-axle pipes right where the 3 inch pipe split into the "Y" pipes going into the muffler. I have saved those pipes so the new potential owner can just simply weld it back on.

I paid $2,300 (not including shipping to California). I am looking for $2,100 (since I did cut the pipes). I prefer a local buyer but can ship at buyers expense. I am located near Los Angeles, CA. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks.

Obviously you are new here and you got ROOKED if you paid that kind of money for a hacked up, butchered Akra... NOBODY here will buy that stuff at that price EVER... As a comparison, I purchased my (like new) Akra set up w < 2K miles for $1700 shipped. you are better off attempting to sell the tips only or lower your price drastically. Some here aren't as direct as I am but I am certain that they would all agree.

0H8Z06 - I appreciate your feedback. You got a great deal on a set of "like new" Akra's for $1,700. Wished I would have stumbled on that one. However, when I was searching for a set of used Akra exhausts, I never came across any that were under $2.1K, let alone had that many opportunities to buy since no one really sells their Akras. I searched for a long time and the only ones that I came across on this forum were the two listed below. They both were offered at $2.1K so that's what I figured the market price was for a set of used Akras. After searching for what seemed like years, nothing else ever popped up. So, when the one that I bought showed up on ebay for $2.3K, I thought it was in the general ballpark for a set of used Akras and since they are so rare, I didn't mind paying a bit over for them. And just to clarify, I didn't buy a set of "hacked up" Akras. I cut the pipes myself to test fit them for my CTS-V wagon. I thought I mentioned that in my original post... So, I don't really feel like I got "ROOKED".

Like I said in my original post, this is just a feeler. If anyone is interested, let me know. I may just sell the tips since those are the main reason why I may not be going this route with the Akras

The following are the only two that I came across during my search for a set of used C6 Akras.

I happen to agree BIGTIME with OH8z06 as well sir...it is unfortunate that the system was cut...you probably made a major mistake by your own innocent knowledge of what you shouldn't have done...1700 is a great deal...2100 is extreme FOR YOUR SYSTEM...what makes this a tuff sell is that whoever invest in this system is better off taking it to a shop and paying a premium to have it fitted and repaired...this will cost time and money...more than what you think it will...why...trust me I know what is involved...this isn't going to be a small job...I have paid a big price for my mistakes in the past....and I am man enough to admit them later in life that I did..I made you a offer on the tips which are scraped up and dinged up...which leads time and money to repair...but later on if you change your mind...send me a message...I may be interested...sorry to hurt you fella

Default Exhaust

I am not trying to be a problem to you. Just food for thought. I have a set of titanium akrapovic on my Z06. I installed them, tough job with out a car lift. The problem I see here is where they are cut. To get proper alignment they would have to be installed and then tack welded in place then removed to complete the welds. The location of the cut will be tough to get at to weld. Not impossible but time consuming.
I paid $3500 for axle backs 2nd hand but they had not been installed. Basically new. Happy to have found them, have since bought the titanium mid pipe. Both from members on this forum. Both good experiences. Best of luck with your sale.

Wish these were available when I started looking in early 2017. These were 2016 and 2015, respectively. Since then, I’ve only seen the ones I posted and new ones for $5.5K. If people are interested enough in these, they can reach out to and chat about it. If not, they can just move on. Market value means consummating a transaction with a willing buyer and a willing seller at an agreed price. If there is no interest, then I guess I’ll be keeping these. No hard feelings.

Not to mention you have no credibility on the forum as just joining last month. No need to take offense... Its not a personal attack. Overall consensus here on this forum is drop the price, part out the tips or attempt to sell elsewhere. CL/Ebay is an option....

I know you guys aren’t and I completely understand. On the other forums that I participate in, we **** on bad reputation sellers, bad tuners, etc. If price is too high, then it just doesn’t get sold. But like I said, I’m in between selling and keeping them. If someone is serious enough, then someone will reach out and if they are really serious, they’ll ty to negotiate.

Ok, so after much discussion with my bodyshop, it looks like im going a different roite with the exhaust. So, i have no need for the akras. Open to some “reasonable” offers. Thanks

What’s a reasonable offer? We can all appreciate what they are however ones uncut sell for 15-1600 here pretty frequently. Not looking to bash your post but that would be more realistic to prove them under that

Those tips have some damage yikes. And cut. I think $1000 is an "okay" deal for someone at best.
