Default Code Help

I have an 06 base auto with 20k miles on it and no mods at all. I have gotten this code to appear 2 times in the last 6 months.

I am randomly getting this trouble code and want to know if anyone else has had this randomly. It will only appear once in a blue moon when I reverse then go into drive.

Is this just a TCM fluke or there an issue and one day its just going to crap out on me?

usually when a p0700 codes there is additional info available but only if you have a scan tool that can communicate with the trans directly (factory scan tools can do this)
it could also be that your not coming to a full stop before shifting to drive. most people (myself included) will will slam it into drive while the vehicle is still moving backwards and mash the gas pedal this can cause all kinds of hell inside the trans.

Thanks for the incite. I think what you are describing about stopping completely makes sense. I faintly remember doing that when the code popped up. I do have a scan tool that communicates with the TCM and it is communicating properly.
