Talked to him at lunch time about my new to me 2012 Centennial Edition Grand Sport, whether to do a blower or heads and cam and tuning, to make a consistent 10 second car

Is this an auto car? If so cam/headers/blower will get you well into the 10's. We have a few customers in the high 9's with similar setups. Just depends how bad you want it. They walk 10.30-10.5's all day.

The key to keeping the 6L80E living is a lot in the overall calibration of not only the transmission but the engine. Many still don't grasp the concept that the transmission receives a torque value from the engine controller which is based off the "air model" of the engine. Airflow=Torque. If the model is off (which in essence what we are solving during a calibration) then the reported torque to the trans will be off. This is when the shifts get messed up and you eat the trans. We like to keep power around 640-660 wheel and you can live all day....again IF the trans is already healthy.

A boosted centrif C6 with a auto is a wicked setup.
