Default help C6 column lock won't clear

Help!
I tried installing the column lock bypass, from corvette mods, for my 2005 C6. I followed the directions, but now I cannot seem to clear the steering column lock error message.
Car won't start.
I even uninstalled and plugged the stock wire back in to no avail.
I unhooked the battery cable overnight, didn't help
I unplugged the BCM for an hour, didn't help
I don't know what to try next

does the steering wheel turn freely? if yes, one way to solve your problem is to find someone with a TECH2, and flash the latest BCM software provided by GM in one of their TSB.

Theres a recent BCM software update that makes the BCM ignore the steering column lock altogether, or at least that's what it seems like from how i've seen cars act before and after the flash.

Thanks for the reply.
Yes, steering wheel is unlocked. Just cannot clear the error.
I was hoping that I wouldn't have to get it to the dealer. Getting a dead Corvette on the truck isn't easy.

Default Could be a bad module

Could be a bad module. I remember when I installed mine, first start I got the error. Scared me good, couple of ignition cycles and it eventually went away and started. Can you plug in the old module to at least drive the car to the dealership? If that works you can try leaving the car in neutral so it doesn't shut down completely when you turn it off, then Swap the unit and start it.

GM has a permanent fix TSB that does not require a bypass unit. It's not free to get done however

So after all the years of the 2005 and earlier Column lock issues and the DBS in 05 Manual tranny cars, they’re actually making people pay for the fix they caused the n the first place? A little ridiculous.
