High output alternator question
I bought a high-output alternator for my 2006 Z06
this alternator came with an adapter plug that goes between the OEM harness and the new alternator. There is nothing in the instructions about this and since it is Sunday the place is closed so I'm wondering if anyone knows about this.
It seems to me that the blue wire should be grounded but maybe it goes to a certain terminal or stud on the back of the alternator such as the one that has the capitol B.
any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
What to do with this blue wire
High output alternator came with this and no instruction from Nations Auto Electric
This is from Nations Electric alternator and starter Supply.
. I actually found better units that have adjustable voltage, pwm controllers and everything after I bought this but I'll use this for now but next time I'm getting a definite upgrade.

What was the solution?

The adapter connector eliminates the OEM 'S' terminal that has 12v constant (unswitched) and the blue wire then connects straight to the Batt+ stud on alternator. Basically upgrades the wire gauge and also makes for a sure connection. The alternator still gets it's 12v but more accurate read with a short thick wire vs the harness feed.
To figure it out
I read about alternators and the "S" terminal always has an unswitched hot wire.
Good thing I didnt ground it man I was oh so close!
