Default Engine light on, scan tool recommendations...

07 base M6 corvette with 64,500 miles. Installed a vararam with a paper filter instead of the supplied oil type, also cleaned the MAF sensor, blended and polished the high spots on the TB, and finally ported the stock intake most work at the runners and the round runner spot in the plenum DS.. Running great for the last 100 miles or so quicker reving, seems like a few more HP. Today had it idle in the drive for 10 min, then a 1 mile drive to gas it up, upon leaving the station noticed the engine light on, pulled over and rechecked gas cap then drove about an hour, still on, disconnected positive on batt for ten minutes, but still came on. It was low 90's today so maybe it is lean from the mods if it isn't a bad cap. Anyway what is the newest in scan tools? Looking for something that will read most codes for this vette and wife's 2013 traverse would like to keep it under $100. I plan to install Z06 exhaust in the next few weeks and get a full tune anyway.

I picked up a BlueDriver about 2 weeks ago. It’s Bluetooth, reads everything, clears codes, allows you to monitor real-time from mph to fuel trims and it’s $100.

Go by an auto zone or napa, and they will read the codes for free. You may have an unmeasured air leak after reinstalling everything causing the computer to add to much fuel thinking its lean.

That BlueDriver unit looks real nice, I downloaded the app just to get an idea! I may go to autozone after I disconnect the batt and check for any loose hoses or leaks, I guess it could be lean after the work done to it. I should buy one just to have ...

I just realized you are in aurora. I can cruise that way this weekend and plug into your car if you want. If you have an idea about fuel trims or whatever...it will monitor it. The mode 6 feature is more in depth than the P code. Lmk. I wouldn't mind going to two brothers anyway 😁

Can you confirm if the Bluedriver can retrieve BCM, ABS, SRS and other manufacturer specific codes found in the C6 Corvette? Trying to find something useful other than the fake Tech 2 that some say has a short life span. Thank you!

It does ABS and SRS. I have no idea about Corvette BCM codes. Probably best to contact Bluedriver.
