Diablo street tune VS Cow tune

I bought the COW Booster and gotten two tunes from Chuck. I have been emailing Chuck for seven months to inspect my log file to see if I need my tune adjusted. I have struggled from day 1 to receive anything that resembled fair customer service. I had to hound him for months to get the booster and then a tune. I've just tried emailing the logfile again. I see other posters raving about him but I have only disappointment.

I sent Diablo an information request and got an email in less than an hour and a half, I called Chuck… He called me back, a month later. I have a Diablo tuner now and will be getting the custom tune applied when the weather warms up. For me it’s about service with each experience.

I don't prefer a vendor who tries too hard, and over-sells their product or service. I have tried several times to click on and follow links to supposed Chuck Cow offers, but these just go in circles. Calling the phone number seems to be the only working contact. With all of the Web hype, here and elsewhere ... I went to Lew's site. Ordered a Diablo inTune i3 and Custom Tune package. The initial preset tune is kinda neat, it seems that the the Firm Shift setting has increased the A6 shifts to 6,400 RPM from 5,400 RPM and VERY FIRM. I like it. After driving 150 miles, I'll send Lew the logs and he'll work up a custom tune. This route is convenient and suits me and my 2007 Base.

I am in a similar situation with my SCTX4 I bought for my 2015 Camaro SS. I got a couple mods and the tuner from Jannetty. That whole process went well, though I didn't get the 91 tune I paid for, but didn't realize it until I was going through emails. Shame on me, no biggy. But it doesn't seem that he is big on the C6 forums like he was on Camaro5/6. So thinking of going with someone else. Of course I get replies from RDP, and I was told to do research on him. Not sure if that was simply sour grapes from a competitor kind of like we are seeing here. Also, of course I get replies from CoW to sell my SCT and GET THE BEST TUNE POSSIBLE!
As a customer it is a bit daunting. I am currently using a preloaded 93 tune on the tuner and modified the transmission pressures/shifts as much as the preloads allow me to do. It definitely helped. I don't want or need an overly extreme tune that may shorten the lifespan of the engine or transmission. I am pretty happy with the car, but definitely can tell the preloads are definitely very conservative.

I'm in the middle of a tune with lew. I still have to do the WOT part once I get 150 miles on the first custom tune. I originally just had a "canned" tune using my diablosport trinity t1000....which made the A6 w ls2 wake up for sure. But ince I put headers on, I needed more ..... through data logging and a couple emails, lew has made my car feel like totally different car. I can definitely tell the shift points and fuel ratios are 1000% better. Once I do the WOT, that should take care of any lack of throttle response.
I originally was going to use a vitesse controller, but I have so much confidence in the new tune, I decided to give a forum member a great deal on the unused controller.
This isn't bashing chuck at all or saying lew is better. This is just my experience so far and chose diablo since I've used their products for several vehicles over the past 8-10 years. And I have to say lew is very good at replying, answering questions, and guiding through the process....even with some..minor computer issues.
Both of these vendors have some awesome reviews, so I don't think you can go wrong with either one.

Why not sell the Diablo and get a property HP tune on a Dyno for $600? Nothing compares to a Dyno tune!

More and more......
More and more owners and tuners are starting to realize that the MAGICAL DYNO does not necessarily mean you're getting the best value.
50% of my business is new Virgin customers while the other 50% is people who got their magical dyno tunes all over the country....and they are not happy.
I'll say say it has much more to do with the tuner and how he does what he does.... and how the car drives than the numbers on the dyno....
I've street tuned MANY MANY vehicles to perfection with a wideband and they run HORRIBLE on the dyno and I've got amazing #s on Dynos and
the cars drive like **** when they go on the road.
I have 2 different load bearing dynos here and I chose NOT to use them. I've enjoyed fantastic success street tuning (or track tuning) with a wideband
and even those mail order customers that don't go for the serial wideband upgrade, the cars always come out great.
I got close to $100K invested between the 2 machines I have, and I DO NOT use them to make my customers happy.
The machine is just a machine.... or a tool.... and DOES NOT guarantee GREATNESS.
The TUNER you chose DOES.

All I know is that I had my car was street tuned by a widely respected tuner and then I had it tuned on a dyno by a widely respected tuner and there was no comparison. The dyno tune made the car more powerful throughout the entire curve, better throttle response and better shifts. Worth every penny and no going back and forth with different street tunes to find the right one.

Like they say on TV......

Like they say on TV...... YOUR RESULTS MAY VARY.... and THESE STATEMENTS HAVE NOT BEEN EVALUATED by the FDA....
That just might be YOUR experience.....
But, in this game there are A VERY MANY local shops.... and their "MAGICAL DYNO" can't make their tunes any better than someone elses....
It means NOTHING. There are some busy shops that have done a hundred or so tunes....
And then there are those of us who likely do more tunes in one day than your local shop does in 4 or 6 months.....
Thousands and thousands...... BOTH my dynos put together..... don't make a **** of a difference wether I use them or not.... so mostly I don't.
And MY stuff works really well.
I'm not here to break anyone's ***** or start fights.... (despite that's what usually happens....)
But, the point I'm always real quick to make in these threads is to make ABSOLUTELY **** SURE that
I put down any silly comments about DYNO tunes somehow being better than than a good street tune or remote
tunes by someone that knows right well what they are doing.....
Again, a DYNO DOES NOTHING magical for any tuner.....
EVERYONE needs to understand that.
Much of what I do in my tunes to make my customers happy CAN NOT BE bettered on any dyno.
