Oil pressure @ hot idle?
My C6 w/600 miles only shows 26 psi oil pressure (200 degree engine temp) at idle speed. The car has been broken in very easy, hasn't seen red line yet. I also haven't seen oil pressure over 50+ psi in the short bursts to 5,000 RPM. Previous cars have shown 30 psi @ idle and 60psi at 4,000+RPM. Is this just new oil technology and different machining tolerances or should I be talking to the Dealer about low oil pressure?

we have been wondering the same thing. our C5 used to do, best i can remember, around ~32-33psi of oil pressure at idle, maybe a little more i don't remember now. anyway.... the C6, once it's warmed up, gets about the same as what you're seeing... around 28psi... so i would guess that just what the LS2 does normally. *ehhh... guess we'll see huh?

I'm worried about only 26 psi on a brand new motor and the fact that it doesn't show above 50 psi anytime. What happened to to 60 psi (or higher) bypass that always was in every motor?

When the cars cold the pressure is about 48psi.

Mine also is around 28 Psi at hot idle.I think it`s normal. The manual states anything between 20 and 80 Psi is normal. They even say that under certain circumstances (hot weather,Oil viscosity) it can go as low as 6 psi and still be normal.

Tried the oil and filter change yesterday, no difference. Still 26-28 psi at hot idle. First oil change @ 670 miles, Mobil 1 5W-30 and a PF44 filter left over from my Firebird Formula for $52 at Jiffy Lube. I know, $25 labor but well worth it since I didn't have to spend the time and get dirty (and I don't have to get rid of the old oil). Great service too, lots of respect for the car, had me drive it on to & off the lift, I think they were afraid of the car. Stood there and watched the guy pour in 5 !/2 Qts. very carefully while they vacuumned the car and cleaned the glass.

Which feature do you use to determine if your vette is warmed up? Oil Temp or Coolan
continued: Oil temp or coolant temp to determine if car is warmed up because it can take up to 15 to 20 minutes for those temperatures to get into the 200 plus degree mark in oil temp and coolant temp.
At idle my oil is at 29 PSI. The coolant is usually 196 or 194 but it has gone many times up to the 220 mark and same goes for the oil temperature.

Did they reset your oil remaining feature in the DIC?

Surprising change, now that I've run the car to 6,000RPM a couple of times the oil pressure has come up to 30 psi at hot idle! Oil and filter change didn't make any difference but I felt I had enough miles to get on it a little and thats all it took to bring the oil pressure up to what I expected.
It's fun to break the tires loose from a 2,500RPM roll in 2nd. More fun than my 270HP (Front Wheel) 302TQ Dodge SRT-4. Never really got comfortable with torque steer on a Front Wheel drive, breaking the rear wheels loose seems more natural.

Don't get hung-up on these little things
Why is that so important! I've had LS1 type motors since 1999 and never worried about idle oil pressure, and some of my motors made close to 500HP. Worry about: major problems If and when they should ever show up. Anything above 20 PSI is fine and crusing in 6th gear about 40 PSI or so is normal. Remember it's not how much pressure you have it's the volume your pushing that's important. You'd be surprised how little pressure you need to float the bearings.
