Shine ?
I went to a dealer today and they put some kind of a wax on a new Vette. Is warranted for 5 years. Does any one know about this product ? The service included undercoat for $850.

What you described is pure money making bullsh*t...these packages (usually sold by attractive young ladies working at the dealership) are money makers for the dealership AND are crap... the C6 does NOT need undercoating (I wouldn't buy the car if it had this stuff on the car)..the paint treatment and insurance is BS too... like all insurance it is playing the odds of paint failure (modern paints rarely do) and has more disclaimers than Nixon as President. Packages also include ('if you buy this I will throw in fabric and carpet protection) and quick spray of a 3M protectorant for the interior. Stay away from this nonsense...waste of money

when I sold cars we called if snake oil, and yes it was sold by a very attractive young women. When she got through with you were'nt sure what you bought but you felt like you were glad you did. smoke and mirrors say clear. did you really undercoat your vette?

So just enjoy the C6, but remember this the next time you buy. You paid ~$900 for a wash and sealant job, one not as good as I did on my C6 today in my garage for about $5 worth of products.
but don't feel bad or embarassed -- we all have to learn the best lessons the hard way, and after all, you did end up with the most fun car on the planet. I paid a little too much for my car too -- but I don't care - I get wood every time I look at it, so the money doesn't matter.

When I sold cars, we did offer the paint & and interior protection package for $495... it also came with a warranty: If you get a stain on or in the car, we will professionally remove it at no charge. If it cannot be removed the area will be refinished or reapolstered...
