Do I need seat covers?
Similar 'debate' about putting clear film on nose/fenders/hood to protect from the inevitable chips/blemishes. Can always repaint nose if/when shows too many chips.

I had to firm up the the seat bottom by adding a layer ballistic nylon between the foam and springs to keep my hips from hurting. My wife can't ride in the car for any length of time without being in pain. There was nothing between the springs and foam. Also, there is no support under the seat bottom bolsters. The vinyl on the bolster is very thin material.
When I removed the driver's seat, I was very disappointed in the quality of materials used and the construction. Leather is only used in the center section. The bolsters are vinyl. This is normal in today's cars, so that I expected. But the Corvette seats are much worse than cars costing half as much. They were made by Lear Corporation who declared bankruptcy about 6 months ago which tells you something. My Lexus IS350 seats are lots better in every way.
