Default Towing a C6

Obviously the best way to tow a C6 is with a caul hauler / trailer. I plan to tow my C6 on a tow dolly as others have as it will be short distances to shows. Any consturctive input from those with tow dolly experience is appreciated.

I do a lot of towing / hauling. Best to use a trailer, u-haul or other and not a tow dolly. But if it is a short distance why not just drive it??

It will get dirty either way and you will still need to clean it before judging??

I tow with a show truck and show both vehicles which is why the tow dolly operation is the easiest for my one man operation.

I am about to tow my car on a uhaul trailer from GA to OK. Is it possible to back it on due to the low front end...or should I just stack some 2x6s under the front tire to lift the air dam above the front of the trailer? Also, I think I will have to climb out the window once it's on the trailer because I don't think I will be able to open the doors. Any suggestions appreciated.

You fellows should either do a search or start a thread in the drag race section. Lots of those guys tow their C6's. A fellow named Jerry had a C6 on a U-haul trailer at a race near Columbus.

I don't think you are going to find to many guys putting their C6's on a tow dolly though. My cousin uses a dolly for his drag car. I follow him usually in my car and I would not trust one with my C6. They just don't trail very true.

I use a 24' enclosed car hauler with 60" ramp extensions on the rear drop down door. Still very tight clearnances when loading.

any trailer is a one person opporation, just take the time to lean how to do it correctly.

Use t-hooks that attach into the jacking puck holes on the frame and 5000 lbs tie downs.

I used to tow my front wheel drive car behind our motorhome. I wouldn't use the tow dolly on my C6. For one you cannot back up with it hooked up and I feel the car is much safer on the trailer especially if you need to take evasive action

I have used a dolly a couple of times. Not the best, but works ok for me.
