Yes, a VERY sad day indeed for those of us who were lucky enough to know and befriend Dennis.
He will be sorely missed.
Fortunately, Dennis's famous Corvette C6 still lives on now in the hands of another good friend of mine named Steven. And Steve is enthusiastic about trying to pick up where Dennis left off and I hope to be there for much of it.

I know right! All my 60' time slips range from 1.85-2.21 on the same runflat tires, and note the cold temp that night!!!
The only way i can get sub 2's is to be more gentle and patient by slipping the clutch for an extra second or so and rolling onto it it gradually. The biggest tip i learned is the more i spin, the slower my time will be. I also learned its all about weight transfer and not shocking the tires or suspension it seems.

My experience with the track conditions can also affect spinning too, One time i went to another track in the early spring and the car would always go sidways in 3rd gear and that is friggin spooky!!
But im sure this is all known stuff...
I really want some pilot sport cup 2 tires though.

Thanks for the compliment,

That is excellent work. I tried all sorts of launching techniques, whether its just floor it at 1000 rpm, or try to load up the converter at 1500, or 1200 and let the brake go an gas it gradually, you are correct with the amount of wheelspin would equate to faster times. These run flats are terrible for launching and i already bought a pair of 275/40/17 MT ET Streets for next year, so i'll be looking to cut mid 11s once the track re-opens.

I wonder how Pilot Super Sports compare to a run flat for launch conditions? Yeah 3rd gear sideways sucks, anything under 65 degrees i would spin 1st and then the 1-2 shift my car would go sideways and i'd have to let off the gas.

When the michelin runflats were brand new they were fantastic for launching, i could even accelerate in the rain decently, but with some wear they seem to get sort of 'brittle feeling' unless specific technique is applied, and they dont like too much burn-out or track prep or else they turn greasy. So yeah I dont like them.. The standard super sports would be way better im sure, but i dont think as much traction as the cup 2's?

..And when the car would go sideways in 3rd, i wanted to mention that during first and second gear i had minimal to no wheel spin but then in 3rd gear it would suddenly spin and go sideways like it had 1000hp or something, crazy!

OH, and i tried one with traction control 'on' and it was i think 12.6@ 118 definitely bogged at every shift.
