Default 160* Thermo fan settings?

Posted this over in the Z06 section, but I thought I might get some responses here as well too....

Can anyone with experience tell me what the correct fan percentage settings are at each temperature interval for a 160* thermostat? I have LSEdit and a tune, but just switched out my thermostat and would like to make the correct adjustments to the fan settings.

Thanks for any help!!
Mark

However the following may serve...

Fan desired % vs. ECT
192 = 20%
196 = 75%
199 = 80%
203 = 90%

Note: It's been stated that setting the 192° degree percentage higher than 25% and the fan will run all the time. 196 = 65-75%, 199 and up 90%.

Also it's been advised to leave the AC settings factory.

I agree and have had good results using these settings.

I got mine:

192 = 20%
196 = 50%
199 and up=90%.

Its cool watching the DIC temps on a hot day while idling in trafific go up to 196-199, then go right back down to 192!

What happens if you install a 160 thermostat and do not change any settings?

If you're moving, the temps will come down. Stop and go, or idling, the temps will be the same as a 187.

Mike,

In the summer your car isn't going to run 170-180 unless you are driving down the highway, no matter what you do to the fans unless you are running something cooler than a 160 degree thermostat. As you see you can't even turn the fans on until the coolant temp reaches 192.

With my 160 stat my car runs 176-180 on the highway with an ambient temp of 85 to 90 degrees. Around town it runs up to about 196 at the same ambient temp of 85 degrees. My fans are set to 30% at 192 and go up from there.

FYI When I had my defective 160 degree thermostats my car ran 154-158 on the highway when the outside temp was 85 degrees. Then it would go up in the 170s around town and up in the 190s when I let the car idle. Of course when I tested those thermostats they began opening at 140 degrees versus an advertised 160 degrees. The problem was that if the car didn't warm up to at least 165 it started throwing a code and the temp gauge stopped working because the computer thought the car was overheating.
