A6 LS2 is still the quickest.....
see the 1/4 mile performance challenge in the Sticky section at top of page, goto showroom stock...questions will all be answered...
Honestly what do u think the ET is for each car
Stock only?
EG
2005 C6 A4
2006 C6 A6
2008 C6 LS3 A6
Just curious as to how much better one is to another?
According to 'the list':
05 A4 12.56
06 A6 12.21 (next closest is 12.54)
08 A6 ? (the only 08's are M6 cars and times are 12.40 & 12.49)
These are the fastest ones and don't represent what most cars will do. On avg most C6's stock are within .1-.2 in e.t., including LS3's.

Marc have u driven the A4 compared to the A6?How do they each feel, does the A6 feel better,I dont need the paddle shifter so if I can find one w/o it that would be fine....
Have u driven any LS3 yet?
Just curious as to how they feel opposed to your Yellow beast

I have driven a mild bolt on (headers and tuning I think?) A4 C6 and it was fast but had a slightly different feel than mine, maybe a little more 'dead' down low but still an awesome driving experience.
I've also driven Dennis's super fast bolt on A4 as well and that car is just an animal, my car offers no benefits over that one in any rpm range but if I were to do his same exact mods and put in the track time/testing I think I could possibly go even quicker than he has (so far).

No not yet but I should have the opportunity to sometime soon.
I'm still on the fence about possibly buying an '09 LS3 but logic tells me to simply modify my car a little bit more and just pocket that likely $20k+ (depreciation on my car plus the cost of the new one plus taxes etc.) it will take to make the jump.
I still love the C5 Z06 body,no way is anything nicer than that car but I have a bad leg,Marc knows about that first hand as my injuries are nothing compared to his but the C6 Coupe has really grown on me..
Its much nicer than a C5 Coupe...
the C6 Coupe is nicer inside for sure, the new wheels on the 08 are awesome and the LS2 or LS3 is to die for..
The only way I will get a C6 is id GM doesnt do a G8 Coupe..If they do a GTP G8 Coupe then that will be the next car for me,otherwise I'll wait and pickup a used 08 Coupe with low miles and sell the 06 GTO

Oh yes, I still love the C5s as well, I used to prefer the C5 coupes or 'verts but now I too have fallen in love with the the hardtops and Z06s.
I would still love to get an older C5 and build it up for the Corvette Challenge Pro 10.0 or even Pro 11.50 series at Englishtown.

I had an 05 a4 with the 3.15 rear that was a 12.7 car. I replaced it with an 06/A6 which I have not taken to the track. The A6 feels quicker then my A4. I would guess it is a 12.5/12.6 car easily. It is also quicker then the A4 from most rolling speeds and just more fun to drive.
I also drove an 08 A6 LS3 with the 2.73 gears late last summer in 90 degree heat in Atlantic City and felt it was quicker then my 06, slightly more pull(despitr the heat), and slightly faster shifting whether in S or using the paddles.I was very impressed with that set up.
I decided that I am keeping my 06 vert because I love the color. But ,I still wanted to have an LS3 with the NPP So I leased one for two years.Since the vert is an A6, Iwent for the mn6. This car really has a step up powerwise over either of my LS2's, but I suppose some of this is because of the stick vs. auto. If I could effectively launch this car it would be a very quick car. However ,the damn tires are so easily over-powered in 1st and 2nd gear unless all conditions are perfect, that you simply cannot always get the extra power to the ground.
Despite where the current numbers are on THE LIST, I think the LS3, likely with the A6/2.73 will prove to be the stock leader in time.
I talked to my buddy who owns a Pontiac Dealership and he said no 2 door G8 but GM does have a 2 door Pontiac on the table
Its not a definate as we dont know how well the Camaro will do but if is does sell well then Pontiac will most likely get a 2 door...He was hinting at a G7 Coupe but thats just BS as of now..
If Pontiac does do something like that I will get it,if not I am going to look for a nice used LS3 A6 Coupe in and around 2010

While I had originally thought that it would've clearly happened by now (8 months since the first ones had been delivered, drivers more aquainted with their cars, cold weather etc.) I do still believe that a stock LS3 will go notably quicker than any of them have thus far.

While I understand your stance, I humbly disagree. Purely stock, I do not see the LS3 overcoming the TM issues .It's an eight month-plus long conversation, but I still stand behind that if both cars have equal tuning, the LS3 would be more severly handicapped by the computer controlled TM.
