Default Bassani Exhaust

Another exhaust question.... I apologize, but I haven't seen much regarding the AFT-CAT system from Bassani. Any thoughts? Your comments and experiences would be appreciated.

Great sound nice deep bass sound minimal drone at 2k, easy install too. while not a forum favorite it's a great balance of sound and cost.

Why isn't this setup more common or "popular"?

most likley because it does not "bolt up" to the more popular header choices out there..it can me made to adapt the Kooks but that's all that I have seen other than the bassani headers...

I have them on my 07 A6 and Love them!
Nice Deep sound... I have had several people ask me what I have done to my car because it sounds so "tough" (I just have the B's and a Honker)
not sure what this "Drone" thing is....
You do hear the exhaust all of the time, and that is a good thing!

Bassani was in my "top 3" list of exhausts before I pulled the trigger on Bullets.

I'm glad I went the way I did, but the Bassani does really sound great.

(The other exhaust in the top 3 was SLP Loudmouth).

IMO the Bassani sounds the most "refined" of the three, but as someone mentioned, there seem to be some bolt-up issues with headers, and they're hard to find used.

Hear every possible exhaust that you can in person, and good luck!

Sounds AWESOME. Quit posting - don't want to have buyer's remorse with the Bullets

Anybody got any other sound clips of this exhaust? Thanks. I'm leaning towards the slp, but I've also been thinking about this one..

I have Bassani installed in our A6. Came from the GM offroad. Not nearly the drone the GM one had. With the Bassani the wife and I can hear each other talk with the GM that was tough to do.

Sounds about like every other C6 w/a cat-back to me...

I put the bassani catback on my 05 C6 last fall - I had a link to a video of them at idle and accel but can't find it now (search forum or google to find it I think) - I saw some threads here before on them that were positive and for the price (IIRC $799 delivered when I bought) the price allowed me to get the VaraRam CAI + Bassani's for the price of the Borla catback alone...

Happy with them although I still miss the sound of my C5 w/long tube headers, hi-flow cats and Borla stingers....

The bassani's have some drone at low rpm/lower gears under load on mine (right outside my driveway is a steep hill, going up that in 1-2nd at low rpm really exhibits that...) but at highway cruising speeds in 4-6th there is none for me... overall I'm happy (esp. considering the price and the large quad tips look nice IMHO)
Just wish the C6 didn't have that "Lub... Lub... Lub" sound at idle but that's another story/thread...

I'm also looking at a Bassani for my 05 M6 and would be very interested to know how it compares to Bullets with the PRT center section, as the design is identical.

How's the volume level of this exhaust compared to Stingers, for example?

Cheers,
Ian.

(Tom400CFI)
The worst way to compare exhausts is via sound bites on the Internet!!
You have to hit the streets and listen to them in person!!!

You can not duplicate the sound on small 3.5" speakers!

IMO all of the sound bites that are posted on the Internet sound similar!

If you want a loud deep sounding exhaust, you should listen to the Bassani's

P.S. C6Manny.... Love them Wheels!!

I've recently installed Bassini Try-Y headers with the Bassini cat back system and was pleasantly surprised at the deep aggressive sound. The reason I bring up the headers is that I believe that the Bassani headers and cat back work as a system. I suspect that a lot of engineering went into the design of the 'system' and sound. That's why I went with the Bassini headers. O' there was another reason - Try -y's vs. long tube - but that's for another post.

I was about to get the Bassani's after hearing them on a display C5 ZO6 at Carlisle last August.....On the LS6, they are hands down the best sounding I've ever heard on a Vette......But, the sound was different on the LS2. I went to the Bassani install tent to hear them on a C6, and eventhough they did sound good, they didn't impress me like they did on that C5 Z......I ended up going with Borla Stingers

Would you say the Stingers are louder than the Bassani, or quieter?

Much drone from the Stingers?

Cheers,
Ian.

I have a good friend that has the Borla Stingers on his 05. The Bassani is louder by a fair margin. He says he can always here me coming down road.

I've searched but haven't been able to find any good sound clips. Anybody have one? Thanks.
