Default 08 A6 Z51- 3:42 or 3:73 gears?

I just bought an 08. The majority says 3:42,but I would like to know if there is any difference from the two? I had cars with 5:13. I am going the way of Dennis. Start with the rear & work my way forward.Spinmonster has had many post on this, are you listening?

4.56's will destroy your fuel economy! (But, oh what fun you'll have!)

Definitely in an A4 but damn, now he's talking 3.73s in the A6 too?!
My vote is still 3.42s, a GREAT street/strip gear.
For the more 'fuel economy conscious' types even 3.15s will work well but if you're delving into the rear already anyway I would probably go 3.42s.
Those 3.73s could make for some nice sixty foots though I bet!

Not necessarily.
That's what drag radials (or DOT slicks) are for.
