Default Best launch for an A6 at the track?

Hi guys, I have an A6 with stock converters. I also have headers and a supercharger with 500rwhp with drag radials.

With the Nitto Drag radials at 22psi and after a burn out, what should I do to launch my car correctly?

The best 60 I have so far was 1.78. I have tried launch at 1200rpm, 1500rpm and off idle but can't seem to do much better than 1.80

Any help would be appreciated on the launch rpm.

Charles,

At the Infineon Corvette night, all my runs were made at slightly just above idle. I've got a 3600 Yank in my car now but when I still had the stock converter in there, I found that just pressing your foot on the gas enough so that you hear the engine rpm increase a little usually works best. I've tried launching at higher rpm but found it didn't help any.

Hope that helps.

I used to lauch mine in S mode with the car powerbrakes on the line to the point the wheels were about to spin. Seemed to work great!

seems that your doing pretty good with a stock converter, 1.78 aint bad at all.

what i usually do is stall up about 1000 in s mode and go, this got me a best of 1.83 on stock run flats and stock converter

first off, put your dr's down to about 17 to 17.5, make sure you do a very long burnout since it's a drag radial

put left foot on the brake, and have the other foot ready, as soon as the light goes mash the right, let off the left,

that will get you the most flash out of a stock converter and your best 60

Should I pre-load the converter? If so, at what rpm?

Everyone has a different way of doing it with the stalling up. Its all trial and error. You have to find the sweet spot with your setup. More set time will tell you the best way to launch your car. Don`t just try one way,try everything.

Can i ask, what method gave you your best 60ft(1.78) and what was the et/mph for that run?

I think I launched about 1200rpm, the time was 11.72 at 125mph.

i don't preload on the stock converter, i'm only pulling 1.94's , but i don't have a s/c either,

i've tried it both ways several times pre loading and not preloading and on the stock converter, the mash and go works better by about .05 without a s/c
