Default GM Performance catback exhaust

Is anyone out there using the GM Performance catback exhaust? I'm considering it for my 07 C6 Auto and am curious how it compares to Corsa, Borla etc in terms of cost and performance. The dealer is quoting the cost at ~ $1700 installed.

Thanks for your comments

The exhaust is a Borla unless they have changed recently. I had it on an A6 coupe and it was off the car within a week. The drone was terrible at 1500 rpm. No fooling, I had a headache after a short drive. Seriously look elsewhere. I have a Corsa Sport designed for the A6 and it is great.

It has the exact Borla style, but the sound is a little lower than Borla.

I saw an ad for new Borla Stingers on here yesterday for slightly over $1,000. From what I understand, they are basically the same, since Borla makes both.

I have the off road version. There is some drone from 1500 to 1800 rpm but I don't find it too objectionable. It is made by Borla and seems to be their "stinger" model.

Ther are TWO GM cat backs. The GM Performance Exhaust which is the equivilant of the Borla Touring and very mild and there is the GM Agressive Growl Off-Road which is the equivilant of the Borla Stingers. Two different GM p/n's and very different sounds. GM Performance (Touring) is quiet and barely louder than stock. GM Off-Ropad is much louder and there is some drone as with all louder aftermarket exhausts with the exception of Corsa which has a higher pitch sound all it's own. Be sure of the GM unit you are considering before buying. Also, $1,700 seems high. The GM Performance exhaust new is around $1,200 and install should only run $150-$200.

I bought my GM off road Performance exhaust used from a forum member for $500 and LOVE it. Yes they are made by BORLA. And yes it gives a "drone" at higher speed cruise, but hey, you drive a Corvette! If you want a drive a whisper jet, get a Cadillac. There is no reason to get the X pipe system from the cats back. Some complain about the "popping" on decceleration, but it's a slight rumble that I like.

I purchased by GM off road performance mufflers from the dealer. Ask them for a parts discount. I paid 1200.00, which includes the 4 large tips. The off road version is a Borla Stinger Sport made by Borla for GM. Yes there is a drone at 1500 rpms, but why by a muffler system if you want it quite?
