Default Need Quick advice on Intake Manifold

I have a 2007 z06 and im gonna be getting a few things done to it. The guy said he had a ported intake manifold that would add roughly 10hp to the wheels for $250. Is that a good/fair deal? Are there better manifolds for the ls7 or is the stock one nearly as good as it gets?

From what I've seen that sounds about right on the price(I assume its an exchange) and HP.

It sounds about right $$$ wise, but IMO, its a poor performance value at least on the C6. I didnt get any ET out of it along with other folks I know. This is a mod where its more for those who have heads and cam to take advantage of the flow. Getting a set of Drag Radials would give you lots more fun, traction and added performance

Sounds like you have about covered it. Only thing is, with all that juice your adding, the main thing missing is TRACTION for all your goodies.

I bought a used unported one for my regular c6 for 120 then paid to have it ported. Depending on the shop you will end up paying about the same. I gambled and won and saved about 60 dollars.

The stock intake is excellent. Despite the measurements, claims, and dynos in the advertising for this porting, I did not find a bit of difference in my LS7 ported intake AND TB. What a waste of money. Live and learn. But - it may work for you.

Since many people do get an increase, its a statement about the guy who ported your manifold.

Experience is the key to many things and this one of them.

Anybody have an opinion on just porting the TB and not the intake. Is it worth it?
