08 Software Update - Locked ECM?

I had my 08 Z51 Coupe in for warranty work, sway bar end links and differential fluid. They also upgraded the software to ECM WC:11F3C. Does anyone know what this upgraded effected? The performance is the same, rumor around the boards is that GM is locking the ECM's? I will also post in the C6 Scan and Tune forum.

Dealerships don't reflash just to do it, the "WC:11F3C" is the "Claim Code" not a program. What were they updating? Did you ask to have something checked? Not locking any PCM as far as I know.

The service tech and I noticed after a test driver a slight idle surge. So he said that he would look for a possible update. When I picked up the car the work order said: "No trouble codes and data within normal parameters, found updated software. Uploaded updated software to ECM WC: 11F3C rechecked engine performance. Working as designed."

Rumor on other boards is that GM is locking ECM's?

I started that thread on the HP forums. I am satisfied after research that it is a bug, not a stealth locking ecm ploy on the part of GM or Dealer employees. Besides, even if it was locked, why worry? You are not tuning your car to void your warranty, right?
