This only happens with my hoosiers at 130 + MPH.
HOOSIER size 295/30/18 front & 345/35/18 rear.
HELP
You may have seen my video of going faster than that with no problem. I ran HPDE's in Nov and Dec with Hoosiers, but I was running stock sizes (275 front and 325 rear).
I assume you weren't at a real high rpm. In the C6Z, 3rd gear will top out at 7,000 rpm redline about 125 mph, maybe 130 with the bigger tires (GPS measured if you have a data logger). If you were doing 130 in 3rd I would expect the rev limiter would come into action.
Did it pull power on you and limit you so you couldn't go any faster than 130, or was it just a message?
If it was just a message but wasn't reducing power, I guess I'd just ignore it (or shift into 4th ).
Are you sure you're not getting the "Engine Drag Control" message on the DIC? That's common when you go to 345 tires, and let off the gas at high speed. The non-factory front to rear tire size ratio causes that. The car thinks your rear wheels are skidding and it tries to prevent that (so I have read). I know it's a problem with 345 tires.

Yes, iam shure. Over rev limiter briefly shows up at over 130+ in 4th gear. What be the fix for this??
Are you actually hitting the rev limiter or merely getting a message on your DIC?
I'm local, have you been up to the new PBIR road course and drag strip? I'd like to invite you to the next Corvette Challenge on 2/14/09, we have a great group of guys who hang out, race, and discuss all things Corvette.
