Thanks for the feedback....and a BIG thank you to Joe_G for helping me avoid a premature clutch swap....avoid Valvoline Synthetic fluid at all costs...
Switched to Prestone DOT4, removed clutch spring...pedal no longer sticks to floor under ANY conditions and slow engagement gone.

I always used Prestone DOT 4 and it seemed to work well with frequent changes at the track, but now I changed to using a Ram slave assembly which requires a non-synthetic fluid, Im not sure what to use know; I guess I need to do some research again.
Check out Rangers site for a great writeup on Clutch fluid and the need to change often. By the way; he uses Prestone DOT 4...

I've got 2 quarts of ATE TYP 200 DOT 4 fluid at home, any reason I can't use this for my clutch fluid?
Meets SAE J1703 and FMVSS 116-DOT4 standards
Dry boiling point of minimum 536 degrees Fahrenheit
Wet boiling point of minimum 374 degrees Fahrenheit

Reviving an old thread!! :-)
I bought that so I can do the Ranger Clutch Maintenance thing.
If I don't have any poor clutch symptoms or transmission issues... this should still be performed, no? Preventive maintenance? 50K on the clock with stock clutch.

GREAT NEWS CRAIGSTER!!!!
With 302 6k rpm launches, I think I've put the stock clutch to the test...and it continues to pass with flying colors...
I always recommend proper fluid maintenance and spring removal as a first line of defense before clutch replacement. I'm sure glad it worked out for you!

When you mod your car, your clutch pedal will stick to the floor at the drag strip. Clutch fluid maintenance will help but after I put in the cam it stuck to the floor even with fluid maintenance, until I pulled out the pedal spring.
