Default Thanks again Ranger !

WAS sometimes missing 3rd with hard acceleration. Picture says it all. Everyone needs to read and apply the sticky from Ranger post to clean out clutch reservoir.

Thanks //art

Glad you found the likely root cause, z06tx. Just stick with it. When the clutch fluid looks like that, it takes persistence to get it clean because the area around the seals in the hydraulics is caked with goo that must be scrubbed out progressively. Fresh fluid will do just that.

I was at the drag strip last week with two new ZR1s. To keep the clutch pedal normal we had to swap the fluid out three-times at pass #10 and again at #20. The fluid accumulated clutch dust that fast under launch and high-rpm shifting. But the protocol kept the clutch/tranny combo happy throughout the day.

Zr1 Thread is in blue type. Just click on it. Cool article. That's what I was referring to.

If you are looking for the clutch fluid change help click on the "maintain your clutch" link in his sig.

He either meant Ranger's stickied clutch fluid thread at the top of the forum or the link that Ranger posted a few posts up.

I've done 2 complete swaps now w/pumping and as of today, 2 without pumping (just remove fluid from the resorvoir, clean, and fill back up (per need-for-speed). It's a daily check now until it stays clear (whenever that is).

I started out checking mine every day after reading Ranger's thread. I then changed it on Wed. and Sat. I now change it every Sat and it is much clearer than when I started this process. I have chosen to make it a part of my routine on Saturdays after washing and cleaning my car.
