So as I read it you don't have a unit for your own testing yet? I would be very interested to see how it stacks up against the Vararam performance wise. I'd rather see 1/4 mile than dyno figures to see how effective the "Ram Air" design works. You guys usually build quality stuff so I'm eagerly awaiting more info..

we don't have one to test yet.
Drag strips don't take into consideration the heat but if we could do a test on the same day and manage to change out the parts quickly enough then you could have a back to back test that was valid.
Thanks

waiting on the price I ad a vararam but never installed it the hydrolock stories and the fact it looked like a cheap pos I sold it without installing it

If is effective as the VR, but not a POS like the Vararam, you will sell many.
But Louis said he was going to make a snorkel option for the next LG intake.

Thanks guys,
It has been in the works for a long time. Getting this right has taken some trial fits for sure.
Hopefully we will have one in hand for Corvettes of Carlisle

I'm happy to see some more ram air designs coming to the market. It doesn't even need to be carbon fiber really. As long as it offers a level of performance similar to the Vararam with quality materials and of a design that allows it to filter out all debris I'm sure it will sell well if it's not astronomically expensive. And as for the hydrolocking issue... well we are probably always going to have issues with that unless we get the cold air from the top.

Lou,
Absolutely beautiful design! You mentioned 14 inches of water pressure rise due to the ram air. By my calculations this is probably at around 180 mph, but you didn't state the speed. At my trap speed of 118, this will be good for about 6 inches of rise. That's good for around a 5 hp gain. Not bad. Of course, you'll get the most power gain from guaranteeing that you have the coldest air available for the engine and that's where your design really shines, separating the inlet air from the radiator air.
GREAT JOB, Lou, you are still my hero!!!!

replacing Vararam
Greets Lou,
If your product was installed to replace and already installed Vararam what would be involved? Would a new tune be recommended to a modified car ( heads, headers, intake etc.)?
thanks

The VR has been proven and their customer service is usually pretty good. It's the quality of the part that comes under constant scrutiny. I have had one for over 2 years now without issue. The quality could be better but I have no complaints.
Now, if you (LG) come out with a similarly performing product, with better quality, at a comparible price, well your reputation alone should boost sales to make it a very competitive product. I'm looking forward to seeing more info.
